Native to North America, this up to 3m tall perennial is an impressive plant. It is a good plant for bees, providing plenty of nectar from June to September. It is also increasingly being used as an energy crop and is being grown as a substitute for maize. Cup plant fields are eye-catching because they look like a sea of tiny sunflower flowers.
